Hey!!! My name is Jeremy Bracamontes, most people call me JB, but it's up to you!
My story is somewhat unique and I wanted to share that with those who wish to help children surviving the system or have survived themselves. The memoir I wrote is called, "Resilient, A Story of Group Home Survival" and I truly hope you get a chance to read this message of hope.
I spent most of my young life alone in group homes, orphanages and similar shelter facilities. The trauma, neglect and abuse associated to that has followed me to this day. My mother was a heroin addict who robbed a bank and my father, also an addict died from cancer when I was just five years old. Navigating through those emotions, not giving up and trying to be the best possible person, with what has been offered to me, is something I would like to share with you. Maybe it will stick and provide you with some light!

The hardship and pain associated to surviving the system allowed me to succeed in the Navy as an intelligence specialist and go on to support special operations as a DoD contractor after my enlistment. I CHOSE to put my pain, toward good and I want to share this with those who need it most.
The only difference between a villain and hero is how they interpret their troubled backstory. The villain wants to hurt those like he was hurt. The hero never wants people to suffer like he did; and that is what we need to be like for our young ones trying to survive alone in these homes.
